Cornell K. Rudov is the founder and President of CPASNET.COM, a consortium of accounting and business consulting firms who have pooled their resources to more effectively compete in their geographically exclusive market places. The network was formed to provide marketing support and materials to firms dedicated to growing their practices.
In his capacity as President, Cornell works with accounting firms to develop and support their marketing programming. He has assisted firms in the development of long-range strategic plans to achieve their growth goals. This includes the development of marketing resources including newsletters, brochures, sales presentations and advertising campaigns. He also helps train partners and staff in utilizing sophisticated sales training techniques.
Cornell has been instrumental in the design and implementation of training programs to teach marketing and to create an environment within the accounting firm to ensure that marketing programs are implemented. He also has been instrumental in the design and layout of Internet sites and in creating direct mail programs to targeted niche areas. He has assisted numerous firms with the development of niche practices and with the tailoring of programs to reach specific markets.
In his work with over 100 accounting firms, Mr. Rudov helps practices focus their resources and talents in those areas that will provide them the greatest return on their marketing investment. He brings the critical analytic tools to determine those individuals within the practice to lead the marketing endeavor and coaches them to become marketing leaders in their firms and business communities. He has worked extensively with members of the media in enlisting their assistance to achieve greater recognition for accounting firms. Further, he has created and put in place substantive press release programs to ensure greater name recognition for professional practices to support their marketing goals.
Prior to the formation of CPASNET, Cornell served as the Director of Practice Development for the multi-office, Central New Jersey based Rosenberg, Druker & Company (RD&Co.) where he was instrumental in growing that firm more than 250% in seven years. During his tenure with RD&Co., he developed many tools and techniques that are now used as benchmarks by other accounting practices throughout the nation. A recognized leader in professional services marketing, he has lectured to more than 1,000 accountants and consulted with more than 100 practices throughout the US, Canada, South America, Asia and Europe.
Cornell began his career in the New York headquarter’s office of CPA Associates and was later named Director of Operations for one of the nation’s leading pharmaceutical marketing firms. He was then tapped as Vice-President of Marketing Operations for Healthcare Creative Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hayt, Hayt & Landau, one of the country’s largest health care law firms before assuming his duties with Rosenberg, Druker & Company.
He is the publisher and Trademark holder of nine syndicated marketing newsletters for accountants including: InVested Interest©, Profit Margins©, Profit Counselor©, Profit Diagnostics©, Nonprofit Examiner©, ContractorChronicles©, The Professional’s Real Estate Report©, Profit Drivers © and The Professional’s Valuation Quarterly Report©. Cornell also has created a number of client seminars, brochures and other collateral materials for accounting and law firms and has helped select and train a number of promising marketing directors.
His marketing seminar “21st Century Marketing For CPAs” has been named one of the best marketing seminars for CPAs and in 1991 he received the first Annual “Top Marketing Director Award” presented by the Practice Development Institute. He has served on the Long-Range Financial Planning Committee of the Hopewell Valley Regional School District. A former Editorial Board member of CPA Marketing Report, Cornell also was a charter member of the Association of Accounting Marketing Executives. He is a past Member of the Board of Directors of the Mercer County Chamber of Commerce and the former Chairman and current member of the Mercer Business magazine committee.
